Della Elizabeth Coulthurst
Della Elizabeth Coulthurst was technically my first cousin, but we always called her Auntie Dell. She did not like the name Della and insisted on being called Dell.
She was born in Vancouver, BC on May 9, 1920. She passed away July 17, 2011(age 91). Her parents were Alvin ODell Webber (from Berlin ON) (served in WW1)and Alice Mabel Tavner (from London UK). Her parents lived at 709 Dunsmuir St. in Vancouver. If you ever go to Holt Renfrew in downtown Vancouver, that's where their house was located. Her father was ill with tuberculosis (consumption) and was sent to Tranquille BC. Being new to Canada and with a newborn baby, Dell's mom went to stay with her husband and camped there. She developed pneumonia and died in September of 1920. Dell was subsequently raised by her grandmother, Mary Weber (nee Miehm). Mary Weber was a Christian Science practitioner
